    Quality Assurance Technician (Sanitation) (Night Shift) - Humberline


    Position Summary:


    Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Technician (Sanitation) (Night Shift) will be responsible of overseeing the activities of the Sanitation team, ensuring that Sofina’s Sanitation Best Practices are being met; performing the Pre-operational (Pre-Ops) and day to day night QA tasks in accordance to the company’s program requirement. The Quality Assurance Technician (Sanitation) (Night Shift) will also be the liaison between Production, Quality Assurance and external Sanitation teams.


    Key Accountabilities:

    • Primarily responsible for ensuring that the company’s Sanitation Program requirements are being met on a continuous basis through guidance, direction, auditing, training and following up with Sanitation contractors and Production operators at the facility.
    • Responsible for reviewing, validating and maintaining sanitation program (SSOPs, Approved Sanitation Chemicals, MSDS, LoG, Sanitation Checklists, NDSS, AMI Sanitary Design) to ensure it is up to date and to identify areas for continuous improvement.
    • Perform Sanitation Pre-Ops in every area of the plant on a nightly basis and ensure the Pre-Op sampling is carried out as per plant program.
    • Review sampling sites and test results at a determined frequency to identify trends and find appropriate areas of focus.



    • Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Science or other related science discipline.
    • Related work experience in manufacturing/production environment and knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems is an asset.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as required to interact with contractors, operations, present findings and participate on various audits.
    • Computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create word documents, spreadsheets, reports and written letters of response.
