    Manager, Human Resources

    London, Ont

     

     

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manager, Human Resources is accountable for labour relations and day-to-day operations of human resources. The Manager, Human Resources is a part of the Plant Management team working closely with the Plant Manager and other functional leaders to deliver on plant priorities as well as develop and implement innovative HR strategies and initiatives.

     

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Manages the development and implementation of specific HR strategies and initiatives for the plant that support plant goals
    • Manages the development and establishment of Sofina HR processes for the plant – for example: total rewards and talent assessment; applicable policies and practices
    • Participates in Plant Management meetings offering insight and solutions for human resource issues that have impact to the plant/business
    • Member of the local leadership team, provides HR leadership to the team
    • Implements or oversees implementation of corporate initiatives and participates in corporate meetings to identify opportunities
    • Analyzes labour data and makes appropriate recommendations
    • Designs and develops individual development plans supporting succession planning for the plant
    • Manages labour relations, interprets policies and collective agreement, and provides guidance to plant management
    • Leads investigation of issues, makes recommendations in the resolution of issues
    • Identifies, develops and delivers training/communication to supervisors
    • Manages recruitment for hourly and salaried positions
    • Manages non-occupational disability program and return to work program

     

     

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with a degree in such discipline as Business, Labour Relations, Human Resources or equivalent years of experience
    • Thorough knowledge of Labour Relations, Human Rights and Employment Standards and their application
    • Experience in LEAN/TPM/Manufacturing Excellence an asset
    • Strong change management experience for processes and people
    • Analytical skills balanced with ability to make and execute recommendations
    • Positive attitude and unwavering commitment to deliver results
